Learn the nuts and bolts of controlling a movie clip through the keyboard in this 3 part tutorial. One of the most essential items to learn if you want visitors to interact in Flash.
Learn how to add some functionality to your flash apps with the invisible button trick. Having one button instead of multiple buttons in your library will save on file size in your movies and add to the organization of your fla.
To create all of the form elements you will need four dynamic textboxes and two buttons (be sure to select dynamic and not static or input for the textboxes). Once you have made the textboxes and lined them up accordingly give them variable names of name_txt, email_txt, web_txt, and entryNum_txt. Next you should put some sort of static label for the name, email, and website textboxes to show what those fields will be displaying. We will deal with the last textbox in a second. Once that is done you need to make the buttons to navigate through the contact list. I simply made a triangle graphic, converted it to a button and then duplicated it for the back button. I also placed my entryNum_txt textbox between these two buttons. Now the hard part is over and we get to have some fun.
First open up a new Flash document. For this example I set my stage to 200x150. We are going to be creating two objects. One button and one movie clip. First let`s create the button. I made a black rectangle with no line color at 200x15. Now select the box and press F8 to make it a symbol. Choose button as the behavior type and name it button. Lastly give it an instance name of button_btn
Learn the simple technique of creating and animating 3d text with the use of a path. This tutorial covers basic text generation, and shows how to get an object (in this case - the text) to deform and follow a circular path. It is assumed that you have an understanding of the locations of toolbars (create, modify) and transform buttons in MAX (move, rotate, scale), and some understanding of 3D principles.
